Behind the Lens: A Photographer's Q&A
I'm Stephanie, a passionate photographer who mastered the art at the School of Visual Arts in NYC, now bringing my eye for detail and love for capturing moments back to my beloved hometown. While there, I photographed cakes, beautiful people, and many buildings. I'm thrilled to extend my photography services to you, the heart of my community. Let's embark on a photographic journey together!

Let’s dive into a Q&A!
What’s my photographic passion? My favorite subject to photograph is food! For a long time, it was beauty and portraits, sometimes the occasional photo of my pet.
What was it like going to school in NYC to study photography? My journey at the School of Visual Arts was more than just learning the technicalities; it was about discovering my style, understanding the power of critique, and embracing the struggle and solidarity in the pursuit of art.
Who were your early photographic influences? From Miles Aldridge and Tim Walker’s vivid narratives to Alec Soth's compelling storytelling, my photographic style has been shaped by the greats, always pushing me to view the world through a more curious and creative lens.
What is your favorite camera lens that you have bought so far? I love my 85mm 1.2 RF lens - I don’t know what it is about this big lug of glass, but it feels nice and heavy, and it photographs like butter.
What accomplishment are you most proud of? Participating in an exclusive exhibition remains a highlight of my career, fueling my desire to create, share, and inspire through my photography. Especially, seeing all my friends and coworkers come to support me.
If you could give some advice to someone who wants to improve their photography, what would you tell them? In addition to learning the technical aspects, you should learn how colors work, not be afraid of shadows, be patient, and see the world differently, even weirdly, if you can. Learn about the first photographers, try to learn about how others photograph, and keep practicing! Take 100 photos a day or 1,000! Carry that camera everywhere.
